To me, the content ought to be emphasized far above the layout. It’s not a particularly aesthetically gripping layout, but I think you could certainly improved your presentation by the incorporation of pictures, video, or other audio/visual elements.
That’s what I attempt to do at my site, which is not particularly daring in its layout, either.

That sounds like a very mean thing for a random blog to do. Besides I think most lay-out is like art: subjective as all hell.
I do like the new pigs though.

Your layout is simple but that can be a good thing. I find it very annoying when a web site is too cluttered. Besides your opinion about layout is the only one that matters. Use a layout you like.

Hey, your layout is simple and the colors are very neutral, but I wouldn’t call it unappealing. Unappealing to me is something is overly complicated, flashy, difficult to read, etc.

Wow, what a nice little collection of my supporters :) Still experimenting with the layout. Not sure yet what to do. I find internet layout stuff hard to figure out even when it is automated….

Your layout is just fine, Elizabeth. It doesn’t have to be flashy—it’s the content that matters.

I like the new look.
When teaching HTML & Web Design this is my 1st rule is to remember the 3 C’s: Content, Consistancy, and Clarity. My 2nd rule never replace content with flashy stuff. Build a good solid website and add the other stuff only as enhancements.
