Unitarian Universalist Stoles * UU Stoles * The Most Beautiful Stoles Ever

March 1, 2007

June 2008 UPDATE: My mom seems to be taking a vacation, whether permanent or temporary is unclear, from her stole pursuits. She currently has two white stoles not pictured that are suitable (in my opinion) for weddings or other special services where you would want a white stole (there must be some sort of liturgical need for white stoles, yes?). Anyway, thanks for looking at the Mom Stole Gallery. She is so sweet – she ended up selling many of her stoles at absurdly low prices just because she didn’t want to turn people down who she thought were doing such very exciting ministry. Very sweet, but I think perhaps not encouraging of a long-term stole business-ministry.

p.s. I looked up the need for white stoles on wikipedia, and here we have it – white is suitable for

Many of these aren’t typical Unitarian Universalist celebrations, but neither of her white stoles have symbols on them, so they are suitable for all traditions where a stole is needed.

Made by my mom! She didn’t ask me to advertise them, but gosh darn it, they are just so lovely that I had to show them off here. Some of these were specially made for individuals, some are my own that she made for me, and others are still for sale. They are very comfortable and just lovely. I Bet Your Mom Can’t Do This

November 29, 2006

Justice, Peace, Compassion, and Care for the Environment. Who would’a thought you could say all that in a stole?

The Most Beautiful Stoles Ever… (made by my mom)

June 16, 2006

After making me a stole for my Christmas present, my mom decided to venture into the stole making business. Personally, I think she has a calling as a UU liturgical garment maker. These beauties will be on sale at the UFETA book for $250 each during GA. You can come by and buy them (some of the proceeds benefit UFETA) or just look at them and wish that your mom could make you these sorts of stoles. I am half-tempted to encourage you to not buy them, then I can wear them and they can be sample pieces. She also makes custom stoles and cheap easy beautiful yet simple stoles for those on a lower budget, like, um, seminarians. Enjoy!

Butterfly Stole (Butterflies stand up a little bit although you can’t see it from this picture. Detailed pictures to come for you fiber artists out there who like that sort of thing.)
